Three children from my host family:
The first is Lait, my nephew. He's my favorite and the other day he spoke - for the first time I had heard - and he said "Chaka" or more like 'chada' - my Malian name. I was so happy.
The second child is Kaliawa, or Howa - she has a little attitude but is still one of my favorite people in village (even if she's only 4 years old) - "Chaka, n taa. N taa" (Ryan, pick me up)
Finally, there is Djenne, or Djeneba, the daughter of one of my host fathers, Madu. The previous volunteer nicknamed her 'Mama's little butterball' - She's pretty spoiled but I love her anyways.
